The "Heroes from Life-Winning Together" organization, as it is called, was established to unite to achieve a lofty goal: to provide an anchor for rescuing the protagonists 'children with cancer and improving their and their families' quality of life - through financial assistance. Orphans and needy
families.
The association's motto is: "Healthy economy in a healthy body." Families of cancer patients experience a burdensome financial burden as a result of enormous expenses for financing medications, treatments and travel, and a lack of income due to the prolonged stay with the patient. Experience shows that this financial distress is a deterrent to patients 'recovery, and that their removal from their lives is a necessary condition for their and their families' continued functioning, and for the completion of their recovery process.
The association is not funded by any government body, and is funded by donations from the general public, private donors and businesses in Israel and abroad. The members of the association work voluntarily and without pay.
Connecting to activities - ongoing financial support
Heroes of Life-Winners Together operates, focusing on three main planes:
Fundraising for drugs, transplants and surgeries, and special treatments that are not included in the health basket.
Initiating and organizing specific projects for quality and welfare life, and for maintaining the dignity of the children and their families. These projects include ongoing assistance in the household economy, sending food baskets on Saturdays and holidays, and organizing summer camps for sick children.

We always hear about the pain and anxieties, which are the lot of serious patients and their families. We are not always aware of the high price, literally, that patients' families pay to save their loved ones.
There are serious diseases, such as complicated cancers or other rare diseases, that the medications, treatments, transplants and surgeries required to deal with the disease and increase the chances of recovering from it - are not included in the health basket.
The implication is: huge expenses! Most families are unable to afford these expenses, incur huge debts and are forced to choose between two situations: one - to give up after the money runs out, and come to terms with the inability to help the family member overcome the serious illness, and the other - to raise donations. Heroes from Life-Winners Together works to realize the second possibility that means: connection to life. "There were days when my family helped the needy. Who would have believed that one day we would be on the other side .... only those who have experienced this (God forbid) can understand how a serious illness of a family member affects the whole family and degrades it. When I got cancer my family stopped living Dad was fired from his job because he had to accompany me for a long time to the difficult treatments and prolonged hospitalizations. Mom stayed home to take care of my little brothers. All the money my parents saved over the years, we spent on expensive medications and travel trips. When the money ran out they started lending money from the bank and private individuals. .
The debts swelled and my parents could not pay them. This is how we became a needy family. Luckily, someone told our story to the chairman of the Heroes-Winners Association together, and with the support of the association, which raised money as part of a fund established in my name - we survived, not only me, but my whole family. Whole families fall from Igra Rama to Bira Amikata, subsist on basic and minimal foodstuffs, live in starvation conditions, and cannot afford to have Shabbat and holiday meals.
